After three losses in three oficial games into 2017/2018 season, finally Diatec Trentino stepped up and won probably the most important game of this early season, by defeating Gi Group Monza at PalaTrento in Del Monte Italian Cup Quarterfinals, clinching the access to the Final Four next january 2018. We don’t have to forget that Angelo Lorenzetti’s team has been three times finalist in last three edition of Final Four. It was the win n.500, but it wasn’t an easy one. In first set Miguel Angel Falasca’s team was in the lead 21-18, then Trento came back and grabbed the win 25-23 in the set. Since that moment Diatec Trentino owned the game, by winning thew two remaining sets 25-20 and 25-18, clinching the access to Final Four. The best scorer for Trento wasopposite Luca Vettori with 16 points, and Uros Kovacevic behind with 14.

Uros Kovacevic (Diatec Trentino): “We needed to win this game, no chances on this. We did it playing some good volleyball, we would love to play well in front of our fans, after the bad performance of last sunday versus Milano. We turned the page and we grabbed the win”.
Simone Buti (Gi Group Monza): “It was a bad loss, it was a very important game, we were plasying for the Italian Cup Final Four. they were good with the serve, putting on court more quality in the crunch time. This is the start of the season, we should work in practice and grow up. We need to come back into the gym and don’t lose the enthusiasm”.
