The monuments of the Italian National team go on court in the second challenge of the TIM All Star Volley. the hands of 4123 supporters go on fire for Meoni, Fei, Mastrangelo, Tencati, Cernic e Capitan Cisolla. The new wave of Italian senators. On the other side the stars of the JBL All Star A1, starting from World Champion andrea Sartoretti.
Renan Dal Zotto relies on Cuneo's men. In the first set Gonzalez, Felizardo and Wijsmans. Platenik, Nemec, and Sartoretti complete the starting six. Dario Messana, libero. JBL All Star A1 put their foot on the accelerator straight away, but suffers Gigi Mastrangelo and Luca Tencati's blocking who in the scond part of the set slow down even the strongest balls. The rest is done by Fei and his incredibly powerful balls.
In the second set, Italy is forced to go head to head with JBL All Star A1, but Fei and Mastrangelo give Anastasi's team continuity. Luca Tencati's blocks are once again impossible to pass and he signs the 20-17 break. Matej Cernic, TIM All Star Volley MVP, is the team's top scorer. Not only he scores 7 points in attack out of 11 tries but he digs with 86% positivity, giving Anastasi's team a good rhythm.
On the other side of the net, Dal Zotto proposes a range of changes that lit up the match once again. JBL nulls three set balls then makes a fatal mistake serving. Shame, but the main thing is that the willingness to win was there for Anastasi's men. You could not have asked the Azzurri's coach for more.
Matej Cernic (Italia) - “It as a beautiful event and there is a good vibe. Personally I have had a good time. The athmosphere in the National team is good, without taking anything away from Montali who brought me here. We have good hopes for the future".
Giuseppe Patriarca (JBL All Star A1) - “Days like this one are always a good spot for volleyball. Thank you to Forli's audience who is always numerous at our events. Good luck to the National team starting their new course".
Massimo Righi (Men's Serie A Volleyball League MD) – “It was a nice day of volleyball with over 4000 people who came to applaude the stars of our championship and the National team. It is a shame about what happened today, we are even more proud of our palasports where people can still come with their families and enjoy a great sport show without a worry.
TIM All Star Volley 2007 also starts a new season between the National team and the Volleyball League, thanks to everyone's co-operation, feeding a relationship that had slightly worsened".
Andrea Anastasi (Italy's coach) – “We went on court to play a real match which is not easy when your opponents are always changing. I am fairly satisfied with my players' attitude, but there is still a lot of work to do and the road to the Olympics is still long, ours is a tough goal.
Technically I have seen good things in the blocking-digging phase, while in many other phases of the game they have to work harder and improve. I am very happy about this week-end because the team trained well and partecipated to a great volleyball party".
