Yoga Forlì – Sisley Treviso

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 9 (8-1 Treviso)

Manuel Coscione (Yoga Forlì): “It’s been an intense week of work which we want to take with us in the game against Treviso. I like the attitude of the team right now. We showed something good last Sunday too, even if it’s true that we play better away from home. Treviso is a great team, its weakness, if there is one, could be the reception. One thing is for sure, we will give our all”.

Roberto Piazza (Sisley Treviso): “Forli is playing good volleyball right now, it proved it last Sunday against Perugia, making it very difficult for the strong opponent they faced. Anyway, we should be careful against them, like against all the teams to be honest. There are no easy games in our A1. You can’t afford to relax one minute otherwise things get complicated and the opponents gain confidence. We have to play as we did in the last two games and even improve. We’ll be able to move up only if we come out unscathed from these encounters, and therefore be ready to take part in the playoffs and face the strongest teams”.

Acqua Paradiso Monza – Lube Banca Marche Macerata

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 1 (Macerata won it)

Mauro Berruto (Acqua Paradiso Monza): “I considered the last four games as the crucial stage of our season to evaluate our real possibility to make it in the playoffs. We did great and obtained maximum points with 4 wins on a 3-0 score. Now, there is a new and exciting chapter ahead of us. Three teams that will fight to win the league will come in Monza (in order: Macerata, Treviso and Piacenza) and we will face two away games: an important match-up against Verona and a game in Vibo Valentia against a tough and consistent team. We’ll begin with Macerata on Sunday. In the first leg, we were hit by the tragedy few minutes before the start and the game was then postponed. There isn’t much to say, there’s just an extraordinary, infinite will to get on court”.

Lorenzo Smerilli (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “Monza is definitely one of the most in-form teams of the league, so this will surely be a tough test for us. We’ll try to do as well as against Vibo last Sunday. There was a good reaction following the Champions League exit, the victory over Berruto’s team would not only get us some crucial points but it would also bring us confidence. If we want to reach this third place, we can’t lose any more points”.

Prisma Taranto – Trenkwalder Modena

PAST ENCOUNETRS: 13 (10-3 Modena)

Paolo Cozzi (Prisma Taranto): “We know how to defeat Modena and we want this win for the fans, who will surely come in numbers to support us. We played a great game in the first meeting, maybe the most spectacular game away, but we lost at the tie-break. On Sunday we have a chance to take revenge on that bitter loss and finish the league in the best possible way”.

Marco Cosimo Piscopo (Trenkwalder Modena): “This will be a tough game in Taranto: there is a heated atmosphere and it is a quality opponent, they have excellent players such as Rivaldo and Cleber. Our target is to try to win every single game, it’s useless to think differently. We are focused on Taranto, then there will be Perugia and the others. We want to get the maximum and for that we need consistency”.

Marmi Lanza Verona – Itas Diatec Trentino

PRECEDENTI: 11 (8-3 Trento)

Robert Kromm (Marmi Lanza Verona): “It will be a pretty similar game to the one we’ve just played against Piacenza, this is another very strong team. This allow us to face it without pressure and we could get some precious point out of it. We know this is a great team, with many players strong on the serve, but we are preparing ourselves very well on this particular aspect too. Verona is also capable to react and pull together in the tough times, nobody ever feels excluded from the group, it’s together that we express our maximum potential, I think this is our strength”.

Matey Kaziyski (Itas Diatec Trentino): “This will be a particularly difficult game on Sunday: Verona is going through a very positive spell, both in terms of results and level of play. In our first meeting, it had managed to make it really hard for us, surrendering only in the fifth set. This will be a battle, but given our league position and the certainty to be in the playoffs, we won’t feel that much pressure. Having said that, I insist on the fact that we want the win, to stay on our own at the top and keep the others at safe distance”.

Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia – Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 10 (9-1 Cuneo)

Luca Tencati (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “Sunday’s game will be very tough for us. Teams like Cuneo, Trento and Macerata put you under great pressure, they are strong in every area of the game and they don’t let you play. Hopefully, Cuneo will arrive in Vibo a little bit tired from its Marathon done in Spain. I repeat, this won’t be easy, but right now, we’d like a couple of good results for our staff and fans”.

Luigi Mastrangelo (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “It will be a different game from the one we played in our first meeting in Cuneo. They never had a chance to get in the game. The fact they play at home will be an extra motivation for them, we will have to fight”.

CoprAtlantide Piacenza – Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 3 (3Piacenza won them all)

Giovanni Rossi (CoprAtlantide Piacenza): “We’re on the up thanks to our good victory in the Cev Cup. Sunday’s game won’t be easy by any means because they have stabilised their squad. Our old friend Bob Fant is working well. We’ll therefore have to be aggressive right from the start and impose our better technique otherwise we could be in for a bad surprise. Besides, we’ll be without a couple of important players, which forces us to find different tactical situations”.

Mauro Talleri (Direttore Sportivo Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto): “It’s difficult to analyse the games as we are almost certain to go down. The boys keep putting the effort in training, they are professional, they get on court with determination, as you have been able to see in the last few games. They played face to face in the first part of games against much better teams, which were a lot more motivated. The team reacted well to the situation that came up. Perazzolo did well, the middleblockers are playing well. We discovered new libero Armeti which is dealing fine at this level and an ex-libero, Lampariello, who is performing pretty decently as Spiker. Overall, I have to say that everybody is doing fine”.

RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia – Andreoli Latina

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 13 (9-4 Perugia)

Vincenzo Di Pinto (RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia): “I expect a tough match just like the one we played against Forli. We need to maintain a high rhythm, never lower our guards. I don’t think of the playoffs, I only think about playing a good game”.

Goran Vujevic (Andreoli Latina): “This is an important game for us, because there are only a few games left before the end of the league and we need points. We must do better than against Verona. We’re facing a team that failed to reach its target and get into the playoffs, but that will want to bounce back from its performance against Forli. We are confident because these are teams of our level”.
