Important and enjoyable return on home ground for the Trento fans, who saw their team open their Champions League campaign with a 3-1 victory over the Germans of Berlin. The 28 hours spent on the road in the past few days and the change of time zone was not enough to prevent Serniotti’s boys from winning, showing character and fighting spirit once again. Sintini had a performance worth of praise as he inspired Sokolov to 23 points (57%) and got Ferreira back in it.

Roberto Serniotti (coach Trentino Diatec): “I have to congratulate my players for the attitude and the volleyball played in this game. Considering the tour de force we had, tonight’s win is really a great result. We obtained it at the end of a difficult hard-fought encounter, we never gave up, and eventually won it. I also like the fact the 3-1 came thanks a lot to a player like Sintini, who had been waiting for an opportunity like that and he deserved it because he’s been working ever so hard since we resumed training this summer”.
