Italy’s assistant coach and Verona’s head coach, Andrea Giani finished third in the World League final six in Argentina. In the game for the bronze, Italy defeated Bulgaria 3-2 (21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 15-7).
“We experienced all the most thrilling feelings of such a beautiful event – said Giani – First we got our ticket to the Final Six and then we won that battle for third place against Bulgaria. Italy had not been on the podium for the past 9 years, all the hours of training in the long weeks that preceded the event paid off. The players proved they could stick together with one same target, they showed a good attitude and the final result is a deserved reward to the team”.
