Padova’s third middle blocker will be Andrea Mattei. Born in July 1993, he helped Molfetta earn promotion in the A1 last season. Mattei came up in Roma’s youth ranks before playing for Club Italia Roma where he scored 48 points in 12 games in the A2.
“Hopefully, I will find consistency – he said – I feel in great shape, both physically and mentally. My choice to come in Padova was highly influenced by the presence of coach Baldovin, who I met in the the national team. I have always worked very well with him, we got along just fine”.
