Macerata’s stars Ivan Zaytsev and Matteo Martino were Potenza new signings for one day, but only for a training session with the neighbours Macerata. The two teams played a game which the A1 league leaders won 3-0 before Potenza won the extra set played to make it 3-1. Kovar was terrific with over 80% ion attack. Potenza was without spikers Bolla and Lipparini but had an excellent performance from De Leo.
“Shame we did not win that first set – said spiker De Leo – I am satisfied with my performance, but I have to improve in reception. We got on court with a lot of energy, and we made it hard for them, but in the third set we lost our way and the difference between the two teams became evident”.
