The diagonal of Emma Villas Volley Siena for the next Serie A2 championship is done. It will be made up of two foreign players, and there are two non-Italian volleyball players that any club in this category can hire.

It will be a Franco-Brazilian diagonal. These are two players who have already won championships: Thomas Nevot won the French championship twice with Tours, in the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons, while Matheus Krauchuk after a long wandering in many countries and in various continents has just experienced a triumphant season in Berlin, collecting trophies after trophies and winning the German championship, the German Cup and also the German Super Cup.

Both now arrive in Italy, where the most beautiful volleyball in the world is played, with the desire and ambition to take another step in their careers. Both Nevot and Krauchuk have experience in the Champions League, the most important and prestigious continental trophy for clubs: Nevot played it with Tours, Krauchuk has just played it with Berlin, among other things conquering an honorable fifth final position. The Brazilian volleyball player also played in a Club World Cup with the Volei Funvic Natal shirt, conquering the fourth position of the event behind Cruzeiro, Lube and Trento.

Nevot will live his first experience abroad this year, far from the transalpine country. For Matheus Krauchuk the situation is very different: he has already played in Bahrain, South Korea, Turkey, Germany: now he returns to Italy, where he has already played for less than half a season in the 2019-2020 season. He played just eleven games in Santa Croce sull’Arno, therefore always in Tuscany, also collecting good personal numbers before receiving an important call from South Korea and accepting the transfer to the Asian country. In those eleven games, the Brazilian played in a role that was not his: as opposed to Santa Croce there was Williams Padura Diaz, so Krauchuk agreed to play as a spiker, a role he had already covered in Brazil anyway. Now, four years later and having matured further, he will be able to play in his favorite and natural role.

With a video posted yesterday on the Emma Villas Volley Facebook page, Thomas Nevot said he was very happy with the move to Siena. Krauchuk, for his part, reposted the press release from the Sienese club that gave the news of his signing, commenting as follows: “It will be a great honor to return to this country that I love so much”.
