A few minutes ago the first day of the groups valid for the Del Monte® Junior League ended at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova Marche and at the PalaPrincipi in Potenza Picena. The classifications of Groups A and B will be defined by the challenges scheduled for tomorrow, Friday 2 June, and in the morning of the following day. On Saturday afternoon the Finals for 9th and 7th place will be held, as well as the Semifinals in a single match. The calendar for Sunday 4th includes the Finals for 5th and 3rd place in the morning. The showdown for the Italian flag will take place on Sunday at 16.00.
In Group A, at the PalaPrincipi, the morning opened with the 3-1 victory of Pallavolo Padova over Valsa Group Modena. The Paduan change of pace in the first set is surprising with the Emilians ahead by 1 point (14-15) and then defeated 25-16. The Venetian formation was repeated in the afternoon against Emma Villas Siena in three sets taking the top of the group. Good impact with the tournament for Sir Safety Susa Perugia, able to beat the Sienese with the maximum difference in the only match played. Gamma Chimica Brugherio also did well, solid in reacting to the empty lap of the second set against Modena, imposing themselves 3-1. The Emilian giants and the Tuscan team are still at stake.
In Group B, which enlivened the day of competitions at the Eurosuole Forum today, the hosts of Cucine Lube Civitanova are first with full points thanks to the 3-point successes against Top Volley Cisterna and WithU Verona. Itas Trentino, relentless against the pontini in three sets, and Vero Volley Monza, winner with the maximum difference against the Scala family, but with a bit of breath in the first two partials won in the sprint, are at 3 with only one match played . Therefore, the Lazio Under 20s and the Veneto collective are still without success.
