Kemas Lamipel S. Croce and Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia will compete this Sunday afternoon, at 18.00, for game 2 of the A2 Credem Banca playoff semifinal. After Wednesday’s defeat in Calabria, the red and whites have only one result available, victory, with any score. A positive result would postpone the verdict to race 3, scheduled for Wednesday 3 May again at the Pala Maiata in Vibo Valentia. A home defeat, on the contrary, would close the games and promote Tonno Callipo to the final, closing the season of S. Croce. Very high stakes, therefore, and a race that will attract an impressive audience. In the other semifinal, Bergamo will try to overturn the 1-0 in the series; in Cantù, Wednesday, it was a battle, with the Brianzas ahead in the tie-break on Agnelli Tipiesse.

It is a very delicate and at the same time fascinating moment. In Vibo Valentia Kemas Lamipel fought head-on, without being able to win any set but severely engaging her opponents, especially in the second set, decided in practice by two serves, with a score of 22-22. Coach Bulleri showed up in Calabria without Andrea Truocchio, starting centre-back, deploying the young Mirco Compagnoni in his place, who performed well. Truocchio is on the road to recovery, but the reservations about his employment will be dissolved only on the eve. A challenge within the challenge will be the one between the two setters, Coscione and Orduna, and between the opposites, Motzo and Buchegger. Everyone fired on Wednesday, even if the MVP palm went to the Austrian striker.
Tonno Callipo, in addition to the aforementioned diagonal, will line up with the other five “big shots” that make up their starting-six: Davide Candellaro and Alessandro Tondo will play in the center, Nikola Mijailovic and Jernej Terpin in the band, as libero will take the field Dominic Cavaccini. A great team coached by a great coach, Cezar Douglas, the unforgettable leader of the Wolves last season and in 2019-20.
