Returning from the U21 World Championships with a silver medal and the title of World Runner-up, Coach Mario Di Pietro has already immersed himself back in the world of Tinet Prata. The coach has already led the first sessions and met with his staff to understand the progress of this new Tinet.
Yet another busy summer for you with the Italian national teams. However, the great satisfaction of a World Championship silver medal is still there. Can you tell us how you experienced this event and what it left you with, both sportingly and personally?
“The World Cup was a wonderful event, with twenty-four participating teams that truly represented the entire globe. We were all in the same hotel, and this was wonderful, both humanly and logistically. The facilities in this impressive Chinese sports center were within walking distance, allowing us to play against so many teams and watch so many games. The summer was demanding, but it was a truly great experience.”
Was it more the satisfaction of being world runners-up or the disappointment of having to abandon our journey at the final stage?
“Definitely more the satisfaction because this team, which had won silver in previous events, had never performed so well. So we are delighted with the result.
