The new attacking move for Consar is a former Under 21 world champion and Europa 22. The 24-year-old Mattia Gottardo has signed a contract with the Ravenna club for the 2025/26 season. Trained and raised in Pallavolo Padova, with whom he won the Boy League in 2014/15 and made his debut in SuperLega, he then played a championship with Lube Civitanova and then went down to A2 first in Cuneo and, last season, in Reggio Emilia.
“I have always considered Ravenna among the few places where every player dreams of landing – says Gottardo – for the history, the organization, the structure: things that I have been able to see in person, every time I met them as an opponent. It is clear, therefore, that I am very happy to be able to wear this jersey. In A2 Ravenna has had excellent championships, always entering the playoffs: when you played against them, you always had the feeling of facing a high-level team. I believe that in the next championship too we will play to be among the protagonists. Then, for me it will be very stimulating to work and train with coach Valentini: he gave me great enthusiasm, he explained the technical project to me very well, my role and after an unlucky year in Reggio Emilia I really needed a beautiful and exciting project. Working and spending many hours in the gym does not scare me. I am joining a rather young group but one that also has several experienced players: an important mix to find further elements of growth and improvement”.
