The countdown has begun. The SuperLega season is getting closer and closer, with Vero Volley Monza’s debut scheduled for Tuesday, October 21st at the Opiquad Arena against Sir Susa Scai Perugia. Captain Thomas Beretta and his teammates, however, will be able to get a taste of the championship this weekend. The Brianza-based team will compete in the Quarto Trofeo Ferramenta Astori, scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday at the PalaGeorge in Montichiari. Itas Trentino, Valsa Group Modena, and Sonepar Padova are the other contenders.

The two semifinals are scheduled for tomorrow: the first at 5:00 PM with the match between Modena and Padova, followed by Vero Volley’s match against Itas Trentino (at 7:30 PM). Sunday afternoon will be the finals: the third- and fourth-place match will be played at 3:00 PM, with the final match for the tournament title at 6:00 PM.

Vero Volley Monza faces two tough tests ten days before the start of the SuperLega, in which they will participate for the twelfth consecutive year. Following the arrival of world runner-up spiker Martin Atanasov, the team has been training as a full team for a few days now under the guidance of coach Massimo Eccheli. The coach hopes to gain positive results from the tournament, which will conclude week seven of preparation.
