Andrea Argenta has crossed paths with Campi Reali Cantù several times over the last 11 seasons, during which he wore the jersey of several of the Cantù team’s “historic” opponents. But for the 2026/2027 season, the Verona opposite hitter will be hitting in the shadow of the bell tower of San Paolo, after leading Negrini CTE Acqui Terme to the Serie A3 Playoff Semifinals in the recently concluded season.

Coach Tommaso Invernici commented on the new addition: “Andrea is an excellent player, with significant experience in previous seasons as well. We were looking for a player with his characteristics as an opposite hitter.”

These are the player’s words: “Cantù is a great opportunity, and when it was offered to me, it didn’t take me long to decide. I’d already faced them several times in Serie A2 Credem Banca, but I didn’t pay much attention to last year’s performance. I was disappointed that a historic volleyball club like Campi Reali was relegated. However, I believe we can have a good season next year. In terms of objectives, I think we’ll initially have to build the group by working hard, and have a clear chemistry and game plan to develop. Then, win or lose—winning always helps—we’ll have to work calmly. But in a championship like this, which is long and where everything ultimately comes down to the playoffs, all teams become unpredictable. The important thing is to find the right chemistry within the group. It will be a completely new team, so it will take time, and we’ll have to use that time to integrate well.”
