The smile is that of a team with full confidence, the words are those of someone who witnessed a great display of character. Sergio Vandir dal Pozzo, assistant coach of Domotek Volley and a key figure for Coach Antonio Polimeni, rewinds the tape, starting with the battle-hardened away win in Campobasso.
“It was a great match; we played incredibly well the entire match,” Vandir dal Pozzo begins. “Apart from the third set, when we were up 23-20, they managed—with a packed house—to turn things around and win that set. But the best thing was our reaction in the fourth set: it was incredible. You could see all the guys, even the bench, which was united. We won as a team.”
An away triumph that confirms the stellar moment for the Amaranto league leaders, but for Vandir dal Pozzo, it’s already time to look ahead and make an appeal to the people of Reggio. “Expectations are now sky-high. Reggio needs to start filling this arena even more. We’re definitely first, and it’s crucial to have more fans at Palacalafiore now. We look forward to seeing everyone every Sunday, this time early at 4:00 PM.”
