Domotek Volley, Ciaramita opens up: “This triplet is a dream come true”
There’s a thin, purple-tinged thread connecting Erice, the first interview, and a historic triplet that included the Coppa Italia Del Monte, the Supercoppa, and promotion to Serie A2 volleyball. That thread is Francesco Ciaramita, middle blocker for Domotek Volley, and today he candidly recounts a season no one could have imagined, not even himself. At the start of the year, we immediately asked him: would you have ever predicted such a wonderful season, culminating in the triplet? “We certainly didn’t expect it, and it was almost certainly unattainable, but let’s just say it’s a dream come true. I’m very proud of the team, of the work done in the gym. And above all, I’m grateful to have worked with this group and with this club, Domotek, which pursued its goals until the end, and we managed to complete the job.”
Observing from the outside, we often only see the games, the results, the celebrations. But how much work went into achieving such a high level of performance?
“Well, a lot, a lot,” Ciaramita emphasizes, “there was a lot of teamwork and a lot of individual work. I’m very happy with the path I’ve taken, and thanks also to the help of my teammates. Those more experienced in my position were able to teach me and gradually help me grow day after day.”
What was the best moment of this dream season? The center has no doubts. “Definitely crowning this treble. But already with the Coppa Italia, I was over the moon, because it had never happened to me before. Then, playing in this category, the Serie A. A3, which is a huge joy for me, it’s beautiful. It was very satisfying and I still can’t believe it. I continue to experience it as a dream come true.”
