An example, a journey. When a young player from the youth sector reaches the top, it’s always a day to remember. Vero Volley Monza is opening the doors to the first team for Hryhorii Khotsevych Germak, born in 2008, who will be part of the Brianza roster for the 2026/2027 season.
Born in Novomoskovsk, Ukraine, but with Italian citizenship, the spiker is one of the most exciting prospects in the European volleyball scene. With an imposing build—206 centimeters tall—he arrives in the top division after a developmental journey within the Brianza youth academy, where he distinguished himself with his technical skills and personality. Already a member of the Italian youth national team, he recently won the Del Monte® Junior League, a competition for Under-20 teams, with Vero Volley. This triumph adds to the Under-19 Scudetto he won in recent weeks.
Now a new challenge awaits him: his debut in the SuperLega. “The excitement is strong, very strong. It’s certainly a very difficult year ahead of me, one I’ll face with determination and a spirit of sacrifice, but I won’t be caught off guard. I can’t wait to experience everything with the first team and learn as much as I can from my older teammates,” reveals the eighteen-year-old. “The goal is to grow and be useful. I’m ready to contribute and, of course, I’ll try to play as much as possible, making myself available to the coach.” Khotsevych Germak is clear about his own abilities: “Attack is one of my strengths, but I definitely need to continue working hard on the other aspects as well, because this is just a starting point, not a destination.” A final comment on the team’s expectations for the season: “We’re a very young group and we know that goals are achieved… and not declared beforehand…”
