Cuneo draws again from France; Thibault Loubeyre joins the SuperLega
The French libero, leaving Tourcoing Volley-Ball Lille Métropole, has chosen Cuneo for his first experience abroad, investing first in himself and his future.

“Cuneo was the first Italian team I met as a child” – and it will also be his first Italian club of his career: Thibault Loubeyre is a new player for Cuneo Volley.

The French athlete, born in 2001 and best libero at the 2022 U22 European Championships, arriving from the French club Tourcoing Volley-Ball Lille Métropole, will wear the white-blue jersey in the next SuperLega season alongside Captain Cavaccini.

Regarding this new arrival, Sporting Director Paolo Brugiafreddo stated: “The libero position is a very unique one. The confirmation of our Captain Cavaccini gave us ample guarantees, but with the departure of Oberto, who rightly and deservedly seeks space, we needed someone who could be highly competitive and at the same time look to the future. We didn’t believe he was the right fit, because he comes from a major league like the French one and, above all, from a very competitive team like Tourcoing. However, the fact that he considered our situation at that position made us very happy; it’s an investment that Thibault has made in himself, it’s a great challenge he’s taken on to prove his worth even in a more challenging league like the Super League. We’re very happy to have him part of our team; I believe he’ll be a very useful addition who will significantly raise the bar in that role during the week and throughout the season, and who will be ready when needed. I think he’s truly a very important addition.”
