The first “series point.” After winning Game 3, Monge-Gerbaudo Savigliano travels back to Umbria to visit Terni Volley Academy for the fourth match of the playout series, the Piedmontese team’s first chance to seal the deal and secure survival.
The opponent. After losing in Umbria, coach Andrea Berra’s men made up for it with interest at the PalaSanGiorgio on Saturday, April 11th, winning 3-1 and making the most of home-field advantage. This factor will now be reversed, and therefore to the full advantage of coach Camardese’s men, who hope to repeat their performance before the Easter break, taking the series to a “playoff” on April 25th in Cavallermaggiore. In Game 3, Martinez and his teammates, despite the support of a good number of “friendly” fans, suffered a bit of inconsistency, even showing some nervousness. Even in the Cuneo area, however, the quality of the Umbrian firepower has emerged, with the Argentine opposite hitter and spiker Ciupa, who, if on form, could be decisive factors in Credem Banca’s Serie A3. Furthermore, Volley Academy will also have the affection and support of a venue that, just like in Game 2, promises to be a “hot” one, with a large crowd.
