Itas Trentino wins the 27th edition of the Del Monte® Boy League, the “Enrico Bazan Trophy”: at the PalaAllende in Fano (PU), the venue for the final event of the tournament, the team led by Andrea Marino came from behind to defeat Vero Volley Monza, thus lifting the trophy for the third time in its history after victories in 2010 and 2019. A large crowd gathered on the final day of the tournament, with the “little” Dolomite giants, who, after losing the first set (with a winning block by Keller for Monza), managed to rally and prevail in the second set, winning 25-19. The decisive tie-break saw the Trentino team celebrate, having started the dance after Monza’s service error.
The awards ceremony, which saw the participation of the first and second place teams, was attended by Massimo Righi, President of the Serie A Volleyball League, Alberto Santorelli, Councilor for Sport and Tourism for the Municipality of Fano, Fabio Luba, President of the CONI Marche Region, Domenico De Luca, President of the Fipav Marche Regional Committee, and Luca Serfilippi, Mayor of Fano.
