This afternoon – Thursday, April 9 – the 27th edition of the Del Monte® Boy League, “Enrico Bazan” Trophy, was officially inaugurated. This Under-14 tournament, organized by the Lega Pallavolo Serie A, features eight of the best youth teams in Serie A. Four exciting matches, with all eight teams competing between the PalaAllende in Fano and the Palasport Cercolani in Lucrezia di Cartoceto.
The victories of Allianz Milano and Vero Volley Monza officially kicked off the 2026 edition: the Milanese team prevailed 3-0 against Consar Ravenna, with a fast start in the first set and two more closely contested sets. Sir Susa Scai Perugia, on the other hand, gave Monza a tough time: the Block Devils won the first set, with Vero Volley managing to get back on track.
The 6:30 PM matches, however, saw Itas Trentino come from behind to win against MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo. The Piedmontese team, having won the first set, encountered more than a few difficulties in the second set, while in the third set the Dolomites managed the lead they had built up throughout the match with relative ease. A surprise, however, occurred on the Lucrezia court, where defending champions Cucine Lube Civitanova fell 3-0 to Romeo Sorrento, making the team’s qualification for the semifinals a difficult task.
Tomorrow, Friday, April 10th, the Group Stage will conclude with the second and third days of the group matches. The order of finish in the respective standings will determine the rankings for the matches on Saturday, April 11th, the day dedicated to the semifinals and finals.
