Banca Macerata Fisiomed’s second confirmation comes from Piedmont, with the red and whites securing Alessandro Becchio once again. The young setter from Cuneo, born in 2005, has also extended his contract with the club and will be number 13 on the roster ready to tackle the new 2026/2027 Credem Banca Serie A2 championship.
Having arrived in Macerata in the summer of 2025 after a dream season in Sorrento—promotion to Serie A2, winning the Coppa Italia and Serie A3 Supercoppa—Alessandro chose the red and whites with the goal of developing at a higher level. His first season in Serie A2 proved him right: the team built something significant under Coach Giannini, reaching the playoffs and giving way to one of the best-equipped teams in the tournament.
For Becchio, this renewal has a value that goes beyond just the contract. “The work I’ve done this year has been noticed and appreciated by the club, so it means a lot to me,” the player stated, emphasizing how the club’s strong desire to invest in him left no room for doubt: “I didn’t hesitate; the decision to stay in Macerata this year was almost a blind decision.”
We’ll start again in August, with the same hunger as before. Alessandro expects a squad built with the right mix of youth and experience, and his personal and team goals are clear: “I can only hope that next year we can repeat, if not improve, the result achieved last season. The championship will be even tougher with so many big names arriving, but we’ll be ready.”
Regarding his personal role, the midfielder adds: “Personally, I’d like to help the team as much as possible, carving out as much space as possible on the pitch.”
With everything it takes to become a key player in this Macerata community that aims to continue growing, we look forward to seeing Alessandro at the Banca Macerata Forum in a few months to kick off a new and exciting season. Forza Macerata!
