An open letter from the presidents of Men and Women Italian Volleyball Leagues Diego Mosna and Mauro Fabris explained the reasons of the resigns:
We together are surprised and so sorry, upset and weird by the decision of the Italian Volleyball Federation FIPAV to cancel all the tournaments, without even consult or ask the positions of the leagues and the teams. No invitation to the table of decision, they only let us suffered the decision.
We love volleyball and we do care about the safety of our players, staffs and fans in this delicate moment. But we are also people of sport, and we know the importance of sport in the most aggregative and positive way. We also represent clubs who invested alot in this tournaments, giving also to FIPAV the chance to shine in the world because of our excellences.
In total disagreement with the decision of FIPAV, the most coherent decision we can take, is to resign.
