Penna San Giovanni – A fairytale setting that welcomed the first 300 guests to respond to the appeal of the M&G Scuola Pallavolo company on Tuesday 19 December, to toast together to the upcoming Christmas holidays.
The large parking lot of Villa Serita was packed, just as the main room was also packed, for a dinner event that was already largely sold out before last weekend; an extraordinary location, festively lit and “dressed” to the nines to welcome the Yuasa Battery cyclone, the men’s volleyball team currently leading the Serie A2 Credem Banca, and increasingly a media phenomenon in the entire territory.
In the wake of the successes obtained so far by the Grotese team led by coach Massimiliano Ortenzi, 11 victories out of 12 matches played so far which currently give them the record with five points ahead of their closest pursuer, the Grotese sports club wanted to rally all those who are doing so much to raise the name of the club. The response, however, went well beyond our wildest expectations, so much so that we breathed a paradoxical sigh of relief for the few last-minute defections without which, it would probably have been necessary to “loft” the room to accommodate all those who attended. .

The hall of Villa Serita was packed
With Fedrizzi and his companions in the front row, extremely available to all those present (primarily children and young people from the youth sector) for photos, autographs, toasts and smiles, the event saw a large presence of authorities, partners and journalists, as well as naturally of the various corporate teams, managers, collaborators and, inevitably, the fans.
The evening, brilliantly conducted by Riccardo Minnucci assisted by the entertainment of Simone Boccatonda, ranged from the tribute to the current A2 champions, up to the parade of the many coaches of the M&G teams, participating in almost all the youth and category championships available. All this while the special guest of the evening, Friar Mago (aka Father Gianfranco Priori, rector of the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell’Ambro) amazed those present with his magic tricks by going around the tables followed, like a pied piper, by a ” cheering queue of children literally enraptured by his juggling.
