ABBA Pineto reinforces the battery of spikers by inserting the Argentinian Felipe Benavìdez in the blue-and-white roster.

Born in 1997, 194 cm tall and with a Portuguese passport, Felipe Benavídez started playing for Ferro Carril Oeste at the age of 9. After three seasons with Amigos, he signed for Ciudad de Buenos Aires, where he made his Argentine league debut in 2013/14 and played several seasons. In the championship he also wore the jerseys of Libertad Burgi and Obras de San Juan. In 2015 he was the captain of the Argentina national team that finished second in the Under 19 World Cup. In 2020 Felipe flew away from his country to marry the cause of Rotogal Boiro, the Spanish SuperLiga. Two championships between the Galicians and then the move between the French side of Le Plessis – Robinson, still in the first division. In between, exactly in April 2022, Felipe trained with Lube Civitanova to complete the squad after Juantorena’s injury.

It will therefore be the third European nation for the South American, who chooses ABBA to wet his official debut in Italy and to give his contribution to the Pinetese cause.

“I’m happy to join this team and to be able to compete in Serie A2, which I know is of the highest level. I’m excited to start and I hope I can take Pineto as high as possible. This is one of my goals, together to being able to grow up in Italy, a country that I have always liked”.
