The first days of preparation for the 2023/2024 Serie A2 Credem Banca season for Pool Libertas Cantù are officially ending. With the kick-off of the first match scheduled for 15 October at the PalaFrancescucci in Casnate con Bernate against the newly promoted WOW Green House Aversa, the boys of President Ambrogio Molteni gathered on Tuesday 22 August 2023 under the orders of Coach Francesco Denora Caporusso .

A deliberately informal start, with an aperitif at the historic sponsor MABU Café. The following days saw the boys alternate between sessions at the Cantù Sporting Club gym and the Aqvasport swimming pool in Cermenate. Today the first session on the sand is scheduled, an environment in which they will face two more training sessions next week, as well as continuing the technical work at the Palazzetto which will host the home games of the Canturino team.

Yesterday, Thursday 31 August, special morning, with the proposal of an orienteering exercise in collaboration with Orienteering Como and under the guidance of Laura Piatti. The meeting was scheduled at the parking lot of the Chiesetta dei Pittori di Cavallasca (CO), with the Spina Verde Regional Park and the Cadorna Line as the backdrop for this decidedly original challenge. The boys were divided into groups, and each of them had a map. They faced two tests: in the first they had to reach the trench area after passing a checkpoint and return to the starting point; the second was a relay, with the instructor explaining the route and objectives to the group leader, who carried out and transmitted the information to the second participant, and so on until the group members finished. The team made up of Jonas Aguenier, Matteo Picchio, Lorenzo Magliano and the young Francesco Ozzi emerged victorious.

“The first days were useful to reactivate the boys especially from a motor and technical point of view with the first touches of the ball – says Coach Francesco Denora Caporusso -. The first few days are also useful for getting to know the new ones, even if the true nature will come out over time. We decided with Fabio Taiana (the athletic trainer, ed) to start by managing the loads calmly, without particular haste. The backbone of the team gives us the advantage of having the game systems already established and will allow us to insert new ones faster. There is enthusiasm and a desire to do things, and this is an excellent symptom”.

“These first days have gone very well – says the athletic trainer Fabio Taiana -. We made a general adaptation, a very light recovery of the loads, partly to get to know the boys and their state of form, and partly so as not to overload them too much right from the start.
