There are just a few hours left until Sunday 19 May, when the spotlights of the Grottazzolina Palasport will return to illuminate, for the second time in the history of the club, the Italian court for the Del Monte® Supercoppa which will see Yuasa Battery face Grottazzolina. After hosting the Serie A3 event in 2022, in fact, the small village in the Marche region will once again be at the center of the news, and this time for the closing event of the 2023-24 Serie A2 season, which also coincided with the historic promotion to the Super League for the team trained by coach Massimiliano Ortenzi.
Inevitably, therefore, the anticipation grows for an event that everyone is eager for, so much so that there are already two prominent presences confirmed for the event: they will in fact be at the match, ready in the stands to support the “Grottazzolina miracle”, the prefect of Fermo Edoardo D’Alascio and the president of the Marche Region Francesco Acquaroli. The latter had anticipated his presence on the occasion of the visit, which took place seven days ago at Palazzo Raffaello by the delegation of the Grotese club, and will keep his promise. The prefect, however, who took office in Fermo just a month ago, is a man of sport and has already been in the Grotese facility to follow the exploits of the heroes of the Yuasa Battery on the occasion of game 3 of the playoff semi-final with Ravenna, one of the most beauties of the season. He will return on Sunday, but not without first hosting the Grotese delegation in the Prefecture at an official reception scheduled for Thursday 16 May.
Territory and institutions, therefore, increasingly closer to the sporting reality of the moment, which is causing so much talk through its results but also, and the results are probably a direct consequence of it, through ideas, initiatives, programming and planning.
Lega Pallavolo Serie A took the lead in organizing the Del Monte® Supercoppa A2, as always happens for national volleyball events, and on Saturday 18 May the Municipality of Grottazzolina will host the presentation press conference of the event, starting from 11 am. Speakers will include Lega President Massimo Righi, captain and coach of Yuasa Battery Riccardo Vecchi and Massimiliano Ortenzi, the equals of the challenger Consoli Sferc Brescia, namely Simone Tiberti and Roberto Zambonardi respectively. Doing the honors were the president of M&G Volleyball School Rossano Romiti, and of course the Mayor of Grottazzolina, Alberto Antognozzi.
