Luca Porro will be part of the team led by coach Jacopo Cuttini also for the 2024_25 season. The Genoese spiker, who debuted in the Super League with the Juventus club, is the second of three brothers, Paolo and Simone, both volleyball players.

Born in 2004, despite his youth, he can boast a series of goals achieved, both at club level, such as the promotion in 2022 from A3 to A2 in Prata di Pordenone, and then the arrival in A1 with Padova, and several call-ups in National team, the last one at the 2024 men’s Volley Nations League. After a season full of emotions, Porro chose, once again, the capital of Padua, convinced by the trust and stimulating environment he found.

“Padova is the ideal team for me at this stage of my sporting career”. – declared Luca Porro – “It is an environment that gives you confidence and encourages you to improve and grow more and more. Every match you try to score points, fighting for something really important, namely survival, and this puts you in a position to always have to be on top of your game, working hard in the arena. This is all very inspiring.”

Regarding the season just ended, he stated: “The balance at team level is positive, as we saved ourselves three days early, and we made considerable progress. On a personal level, I must say that I have managed to carve out my space in recent months, managing to grow and improve. I then immediately got on well with my teammates and with all the staff.”

Life in Padua: “Perfect for me, as I don’t like the chaos of big cities. The city is quiet, everything is there and the people are nice and helpful. I’m feeling very good,” he added.

Thinking about the objectives for the next SuperLega season, he then said: “My personal objectives are to improve myself further, in all aspects, both technical and tactical, as you never stop learning new things. As a team, to save ourselves and do it as soon as possible, perhaps even surpassing the points we scored last year.”

In reference to the recent call to the VNL, which will start on Wednesday 22 May, he finally concluded: “I am very happy with this call. The level is very high and entering these expeditions is not at all obvious. We are working hard, aiming to win to qualify.”
