A season to remember for all three Serie A2 and A3 Credem Banca teams from the Marche region, all capable of making the jump to the category, between play-offs and the Play Off race.

The first in chronological order to achieve promotion was Banca Macerata, on 21 April, capable of making the most of the chance obtained by winning the Promotion Playoff, i.e. the best of three matches between the top of the two groups of Serie A3, against Mantua. A few days later, on 25 April, Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina won the Serie A2 Play Offs, conquering the PalaEstra in Siena in Game 2, while the Serie A3 Play Offs recently issued their verdict, on 18 May, rewarding the Smartsystem Fano corsair at San Donà in Race 2.

A note of merit, regarding teams from the Marche region, also goes to Cucine Lube Civitanova, which gained the pass for the CEV Challenge Cup by winning the 5th Place Play Offs thanks to the victory in the Final against Verona.

In Serie A2, the promotion of Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina is historic, having made the Promotion Play Offs its own, thus gaining the possibility of competing in the SuperLega next year.

Serie A2 championship which next season will be able to count on two teams from the Marche region: Banca Macerata, thanks to the success in the Promotion Playoff against Gabbiano Mantova, has taken the sporting lift to the higher series, thus guaranteeing promotion.

Maurizio Castellano (Banca Macerata Coach): “In addition to having finished the Regular Season at the top of the Blue Group, we are among the top both in terms of team statistics and individual statistics of the athletes.

A longer path but with the same outcome was the one undertaken and completed by Smartsystem Fano, which on the evening of Saturday 18 May won the Serie A3 Play Offs, finding success in Game 2 against Personal Time San Donà di Piave, thus making the the joy of the approximately 150 Fano fans who traveled to Veneto. Fano finds Serie A2 again more than 25 years after the last time.
