The first day of the Serie A2 volleyball championship brought no points for Emma Villas Codyeco Lupi Siena, who lost 3-0 in Abruzzo against Pineto, one of the teams that strengthened most in the summer transfer window and which began the season with strong hopes. Emma Villas Codyeco again took the lead in the second set, at 13-16, but the Abruzzo team responded once again, 25-21. The third set, however, was a monologue for Abba Pineto, who closed the set at 25-17 and earned three valuable points for their standings.
Iranian spiker Manavi, who is suffering from knee problems, did not participate in the match in Abruzzo. He will undergo medical checks tomorrow. The club will evaluate its next steps as soon as the results are known.
