The joint training session recently concluded at the Pavesi Center in Milan, pitting Campi Reali Cantù against the hosts, Allianz, a SuperLega team that lacks its players playing for their national teams at the World Championships currently being held in the Philippines. The final score read 3-1 for the Milanese team.
Coach Alessio Zingoni started with Luca Martinelli at setter, Gaetano Penna at opposite hitter, Nikolay Ivanov and Andrea Bacco at spikers, Gabriele Maletto and Gioele Taiwo at middle blockers, and Luca Butti at libero. Coach Zingoni rotated all of the team’s players throughout the sets.
Allianz prevailed in the first set (25-20), but in the second, Campi Reali built a strong mid-court defense and tied the score (25-15). A few distractions from Cantù in the third set allowed Milan to regain the lead (25-20). The guests didn’t react and the Milanese also won the fourth set (25-17).
