Crystal-clear class and a veteran personality. Vero Volley Monza announces the arrival of American setter Andrew Rowan. He is the first new addition to the roster for the 2026/2027 season.
Born in Trabuco Canyon, California, on July 29, 2003, Rowan is a 201-centimeter (6’1″) setter fresh from a successful college career at UCLA, where he played from 2022 to 2026, establishing himself as one of the top prospects in American volleyball. Despite his young age—still 23—Andrew already has an impressive track record: he has won two NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and two MPSF Conference (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) titles, also distinguishing himself as an individual. Last season, he was named AVCA National Collegiate Player of the Year for 2026.
His achievements with the US national team are also noteworthy. He won the 2022 U21 Pan American Cup, where he was named MVP and best setter, and also won the 2023 NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six, once again receiving the award for best setter. Last summer, he also participated in the 2025 VNL.
A modern, physical, and technically gifted setter, Rowan comes to Italy for his first experience outside the United States and to test himself in the SuperLega championship. “I’m thrilled to start this new adventure with Vero Volley Monza,” he says. “It will be great to compete against some of the best players in the world and have the opportunity to continue growing. I’m very excited about this experience, about the level of the SuperLega, and also about discovering Italy and its culture.” The setter explains his technical skills: “My main strengths are my set and serve.” He then addressed the fans directly: “I can’t wait to become part of your team. I hope I can help make this season special.”
