Emma Villas Siena left for Piedmont, where tomorrow afternoon the team coached by coach Gianluca Graziosi will face Cuneo. It’s the sixth day of the second round of the A2 championship, there’s not long left until the end of the regular season and so now the points up for grabs are certainly very heavy.
If on the one hand Cuneo wants to achieve another positive result to secure their playoff position, on the other hand Siena needs points to return to the top seven teams in the rankings. At the moment the seventh position in the standings is occupied by Pineto which has 4 points more than the Sienese.
“We are in a difficult moment – declared the vice-president of Emma Villas Siena, Fabio Mechini. – Before thinking about our opponents, we must now think about ourselves, and be concrete and constructive. Three consecutive defeats are a lot, they are dangerous and they are destructive for what was our moment of growth that we were showing. We have to draw a line and try to understand if we can recover one of the top seven positions in the standings to access the playoffs. It won’t be easy, it will require unity of intent and team unity, and the awareness that in difficult moments something more must be brought out.”
Vice-president Fabio Mechini again: “In the last few days we have spoken to each other several times, it will be a complicated match in Cuneo and we will have to give our best. The four points that separate us from Pineto can be many or few.
