They would have thought you were crazy. If a handful of years ago someone had said that Rossano Romiti, born in 1978, would soon become one of the youngest presidents of the top Italian men’s volleyball championship, they would have thought you were crazy. In Grottazzolina, the smallest happy oasis to have ever arrived in the top championship of one of the major sports in Italy. Now, all this is not only a reality today, but there is more. Saturday morning, in fact, in the council chamber of the town hall of the small village of Fermo, sitting next to the mayor Alberto Antognozzi and Rossano Romiti, there were Federico Buffa and Dragan Stankovic, two names that make you dry your brow when it comes to sports. Strong emotions, with the awareness that Grottazzolina is indeed one of the most epic sporting miracles ever, but also that M&G Scuola Pallavolo would like to slowly transform this Cinderella status into a solid reality. It is clear that all this is bold and complex, in a world where uncertainty dominates and the god of money is increasingly the master. But if doing a lot with what you have is a mantra that applies to everyone, in Grottazzolina it is doubly valid.
