It was a magical night in Belem, Brazil, for Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, who defeated Osaka Blueton in three sets in the final of the 2025 Club World Championship to win their third world title after lifting the trophy in the 2022 (in Brazil) and 2023 (in India) editions.
There are four Sir players in the ideal “6+1”: Giannelli is the MVP and best setter, Ben Tara is the best opposite, and both middle blockers Loser and Solè earn individual recognition.
Unlike their previous group stage match, where the Umbrians had prevailed over Osaka after a hard-fought and interminable tie-break (23-21), in the title match, Perugia managed to immediately assert themselves and show their level of play from the opening rallies, leaving the Japanese with little respite (20-25 and 21-25). The third set, however, seemed to have taken over the momentum of Brizard and his teammates, but Sir managed to first close the gap (at 24 points) and then close out the set in their favor at 27-29, saving four set points.
Led once again by Ben Tara (16 points and top scorer) and captain Giannelli, Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia bids farewell to Brazil after celebrating their third Club World Cup.
