The A2 playoff series is a nerve-wracking battle. Conad Reggio Emilia leads 2-1, but Domotek isn’t giving up. Indeed, with just hours to go before Game 4, captain Domenico Laganà chooses the right words to shake things up: no drama, no excuses, just the desire to get their hands dirty.
“It’s a fiercely contested series, we’re working on the details,” Laganà says. “There’s no time to take stock; now we’re playing ball after ball until the end.”
The Amaranto leader makes no excuses for the away defeat: “We’re coming back from a tough away game, not how we wanted it. But we knew it would be tough there; they’re a very well-equipped team. Let’s just say we deserved to lose: in the most crucial moments, they were better than us. That’s sport.”
The question arises: where do we start again? Laganà has no doubts. “We’re starting over with the group. Because that’s what’s kept us afloat since the beginning of the year. A compact group, eager to work, to win, to show off. We’re starting over from this,” he emphasizes, “and we’re starting over, I hope, with more than 4,000 people in the arena. That’s already a more than important foundation.”
The captain knows the emotional value of a home push and makes a clear appeal to the fans: “I’m waiting for you all. The more we are, the merrier. We must all believe in this fantastic dream.”
Laganà doesn’t hide his disappointment over Game 3, but he’s turning it into positive energy. “I’m really angry,” he admits. “We wanted to approach that game differently, but the approach, the opponent’s skill… it didn’t go the way we wanted. But just as I’m angry, all my teammates are angry. Always in sportsmanship terms. And we want to do well at home.”
