Itas Trentino is the first finalist in the Credem Banca Playoffs for 5th Place: Marcelo Mendez’s team from the Dolomites, after winning Game 1 of the semifinals, repeated their feat away from home by beating Vero Volley Monza 3-0 at the Opiquad Arena, thus qualifying for the final match that puts a ticket to the 2026/27 Challenge Cup at stake.
In Brianza, Daniele Lavia (11) and Jordi Ramon (16) were the main players who led Itas to the final: Sbertoli, Faure, and Ramon also scored two aces each, while Simon Torwie excelled at blocking (three winning blocks). Monza’s top scorer was Zhasmin Velickhov (11), with only his spiker breaking the ten-point barrier.
Trento is thus preparing to learn its opponent: tomorrow, at 5:00 PM, Allianz Milano hosts Valsa Group Modena to reopen the series. If the Canaries win, the second finalist will be announced. If the Milanese team can capitalize on home court advantage, Game 3 will be decisive.
