A game worth a season. And one that seems to have already been written somewhere, long before the kickoff. For Francesco Corrado, Game 3 of the Credem Banca Serie A3 playoff final is exactly that. Because on Sunday, May 17 (7:00 PM), at the PalaCalafiore in Reggio Calabria, the Belluno Volley spiker will play for promotion to Serie A2 in his hometown, just a few kilometers from Crotone: the city where he was born.
FATE – A mix of emotions, adrenaline, and destiny. Yes, destiny. Corrado himself, one of the protagonists of the 3-1 victory that leveled the series, said so openly: “It’s nice to be playing for such an important goal in the region where I grew up. Can I be honest? At the beginning of the volleyball season, I felt it. Deep down, I knew that, in the playoffs, we would face a team of the caliber of Domotek. I believe in fate: this is a match I had already imagined. And now it’s actually here.” I’ll do everything I can to win at home.”
CONSISTENT PRESENCE – These words speak volumes about the atmosphere leading up to the “big match.” This is also because Corrado, last Sunday at the VHV Arena, helped inspire coach Mastrangelo’s team with a truly outstanding performance. He scored nineteen points, seven break points, an ace, and was a constant presence in the most crucial moments of the evening: “We were down 14-10 in the second set, after losing the first set. But the comeback gave us renewed energy. And that confidence that allowed us to better face the rest of the match. Yes, we were really good.”
