An opposite hitter for the national team, and a middle blocker (and occasionally a middle blocker, scoring 11 points in the tiebreaker loss to EnergyTime Campobasso) for the club team, Luca Romano is now ready to start the 2026/2027 season, where he will wear the Campi Reali Cantù jersey for the first time. For the 2007-born player, this is his first year in senior volleyball, having previously also played in the youth categories.

Coach Tommaso Invernici commented on the new addition: “Luca is a young man with great potential. We chose him for his desire to bounce back from a poor season and for his dedication to working hard in the gym.”

These are the player’s words: “I’m very happy to be joining Cantù. I know the club because we’ve ‘crossed paths’ with the youth teams several times. I knew that many of the friends I played with, for example in the Regions Trophy, were already part of the team, so I knew what this group could be like. I’m very confident about what could emerge next year. It’s certainly difficult to play in Serie A3 after exiting Serie A2, but I think with the team we’ve left, we can aim high. On a personal level, this is a key season, and I’m taking it as a turning point: it’s my first experience playing only in Serie A because I’ve just graduated from the youth team.”
