One of the newcomers is Giulio Silva. Born in 1986 in Parma, the spiker obtained a contract after impressing the staff during his month trial. Giulio came up in Piacenza’s youth ranks, while he spent last year in the A2 with Tuscania. Silva is part of a family who loves volleyball: his mother played in the Serie A with Nelsen Reggio and in the Italian national team, his twin sisters play in the Serie C and his father Francesco was a TV commentator.

“I’ve always liked the atmosphere there is in Reggio – said Silva – I am from Parma, which is very near, so I know the place well. I had the chance to obtain a trial and I was glad I could impress everyone. I am really excited. As a spiker, being coached by Cantagalli is amazing. He is the master of this position, I’ll be able to learn so much”.
