From the League playoffs to the Challenge playoffs. A little break for the Padova stars and here we go again. Knocked out by Modena in the quarter-finals, Padova will now play for a place in the Challenge Cup 2016-17. It will begin on Sunday with quarter-final Game 1 against Piacenza at home. The series will be played on the best of 3 games. In the regular season, Padova won both encounters, 3-1 away and 3-0 home.
“We’re disappointed we did not push Modena to a Game 5 – said captain Santiago Orduna – We had an excellent game. Shame we could not make it but that remains a great result, credit to the team and staff. It’ won’t be easy to get into those Challenge playoffs now because the series against Modena took a lot out of us physically. We’ll use the next few days to recharge our batteries and then we’ll give everything we have on court like we always do”.
