Alessano’s volley market began with the best possible news: the club officially announced it will keep Mate Cernic for the coming season. That was Mastrangelo’s first request as he will need his international experience to give balance to the team.
“I am really happy to stay – he said – I did have a few other offers, even better ones financially, but I chose to stay in Alessano because me and my family feel at ease here regardless of last year’s results which have not been great. I talked with the coach and sport director Claudio Ciardo about the coming season and the goals we want to achieve, we can’t forget that the relegation will be back this season. I have already worked in the past with coach Mastrangelo, he was the assistant in Vibo then the head coach in Matera. I’ve always liked to work with him, he’s well-prepared and has experience, he knows how to handle the group both in training and during games”.
