It was the summer of three years ago when Mattia Uliana, fresh from the Regions Trophy, joined the youth team, and he hasn’t left since. A libero born in 2007, he grew up playing volleyball on the courts of the province of Padova. Today, he’s taking the long-awaited step from the youth team to the first team.
A journey he remembers with sincere enthusiasm. “I arrived in Padua three years ago, after the Regions Trophy, and right from the start, all my expectations of this club were met. I found a welcoming environment, always ready to support me along the way, but also a winning mentality that I tested myself with every day in the gym.”
Those three intense and emotionally charged years of youth training paved the way for a new level of maturity. “Making this leap to the first team is, first and foremost, a great honor and responsibility for me, as well as a source of satisfaction. It’s an experience I can’t wait to experience and one I intend to approach with the utmost dedication and a desire to continually learn and improve.”
His approach to the second line combines practicality and temperament. “As a libero, I generally try to give my best to the team, both technically, in reception and defense, and in terms of character. I like to make myself heard, cheer on, and support my teammates on the court.”
