From a prized asset on the international volleyball market to a new player for Cucine Lube Civitanova, along with his brother Alex, who recently signed a contract extension with the red and whites. Bulgarian setter Simeon Nikolov opens up about his experience following the announcement of a three-year contract.

For the 2025 World Championship finalist, it will be a return to the Eurosuole Forum, having trained with Lube over the summer a few years ago: “I was a kid and didn’t yet know my limits,” he recalls, “but I began to cultivate the dream of becoming the best setter in the world and winning on the court!”

“Moni” has clear ideas and wants to share his successes with his brother Alex: “It’s a rare opportunity to be able to fight alongside your brother for the same goals,” he explains. “Especially having the privilege of being able to do so in the national team and in one of the most successful teams in the world like Lube. The pleasure is indescribable, but I also feel a great responsibility.”

His relationship with Alex is central to his conversations: “Our mentality is similar,” he assures, “we want to win. My role requires greater clarity because the attackers need my precision. Compared to him, I hold back my emotions to stay fully focused. Our father Vladimir always told us to give everything on and off the pitch, both in training and in matches and in match preparation, so as to never have regrets.”
