After years spent in the second division, Sora reached its target with a miracle come-back over Vibo Valentia in the playoffs final series.
“Nobody could have written a more beautiful outcome than this victory – said owner Gino Giannetti – The final represented perfectly what happened in the regular season as it was characterised by a battle between Sora and Vibo. Competence, of both the individuals and the group, the talent, and the sacrifices, allowed us to overcome a daunting obstacle. Vibo had made it extremely difficult for us by taking the first two games. But on Sunday, we completed an incredible breakthrough, we turned things around with our own strength, not because the opponent gave it to us. This terrific result is important for the whole region. Over 300 fans came to support the team, a noteworthy number that is a good sign for the future of our club. Now that we are in the SuperLega, I am confident a lot of children will fall in love with this sport made of important values, a sport that brought the city of Sora in the Olympus of volleyball”.
