Ortona managed to bring in a gem of a player in Giovanni Provvisiero. Born on 3 August 1996 in Teramo (close to Ortona, in the same region), he has volleyball in his blood as he grew up in a family of volleyball lovers. The libero is known for his talent and character, in 2012 he was named best libero of the Region’s Trophy and the following year the best U19 libero in Italy. At youth level he won it all, league title U18, U19, U20, the Junior League, while he won the A1 playoffs in 2013-14 in Macerata. Last season, he played in the B2 Division for ASD Folgore Massa (near Naples).

Playing in the A2 will be an opportunity to improve my game and hopefully I’ll be worthy of this division. I am proud of wearing the Ortona shirt, this is a club that took the name of the Abruzzo region to new heights”.
