Potenza signed the Under 23 Italian International Andrea Argenta, then moved Mirco Cristofaletti on the wing, and now they completed the outside hitter department with the signing of Simone Marcovecchio. Born in 1997 in Campobasso, he however grew up in Agnone before joining Monza’s youth academy. Initially in football, he picked up volleyball at 16 and immediately made his mark, helping Agnone earn promotion from the Serie C. Then he spent two years in the B2 division with the same club. He impressed Monza and joined the first team in a camp last season, training alongside the stars of the SuperLega before playing in the youth leagues in the B2 and the Junior League.

“I did not expect the call from Potenza Picena – he said – I could not believe it at first, this was such a huge opportunity. I talked to some of the younger players who played for Potenza in recent years and they told me not to lose time because it is the ideal destination for a young player who wants to do well. I followed that advice and I am convinced I won’t regret it”.
