Santo Croce brought in two new players with experience : Angel Dennis and Valerio Vermiglio. Dennis is a versatile player that came from Milan and who will play outside hitter. Born in Avana, Cuba, he also has the Italian passport. He won the CEV CUp 1999 with Palermo, the league title, Super Cup and CEV Cup 2006 with Macereta and the CEV Cup 2005 with Macerata. He also played for Modena for five years, where he won the Challenge Cup in 2008. As for Vermiglio, he played for Treviso’s youth ranks before joing the first team in 1994-95. He won the Champions League 95 and the league in 96. He left the club for a few years before coming back and winning four league titles, three Super Cups, the CEV Cup and Champions League, all this in five seasons. In 2007, he moved to Macerata where he won the Italian Cup, the Super Cup and Challenge Cup 2011. Kazan was his next stop and more trophies came with two Super cups, the Champions League 2012, and the league title. He came back to Italy in 2014-15 with Piacenza before flying to Iran. He had begun the 2016-17 season in San Juan, Argentina.
