Siena’s latest move on the market confirms all its intentions to build a top level team. The club has signed spiker Filippo Vedovotto. Born in 1990 in San Donà di Piave, 192cm tall, he came up in the Treviso youth academy where he won the Junior League 2009, year in which he made his pro debut too. But it is in 2010-11 that he became one of the most coveted spikers of the Serie A2 with 477 points scored in 34 games at Città di Castello. After a year in Milan, he won the Italian Cup A2 as well as promotion with Padova. In this period, he had a stint on loan in the French team of Narbonne and also earned his first call with the national team, winning the Mediterranean Games in Turkey. On his return to Italy, he signed for Vibo Valentia and won the Italian Cup A2 two more times in 2015 and 2016. Last year, he was close to average 14 points per game at 48.8% in attack.
