Beyond any result, beyond the sporting and competitive test: it was above all an afternoon of emotions, memories and emotion that of Saturday 17 September 2022, at the Pala Grotte di Castellana, for the first edition of the Franco Castiglia Trophy. In front, for a joint training, the Bcc Castellana Grotte, which continued its preseason path in view of the next national championship series A2 Credem Banca of men’s volleyball, and the M2G Green Bari, a formation that is preparing to participate in the next tournament A3 series.

Organized by family in collaboration with New Mater Volley and with the patronage of the Municipality of Castellana Grotte, the memorial represented an opportunity to remember and honor the figure of Franco (former protagonist on the bench of Bcc Castellana, as a member of the staff coach, a promotion to Serie A1 and the victory of the Italian Cup A2), coach and sportsman who entered the history of many Apulian volleyball clubs, who suddenly died last May. It was the Bcc Castellana Grotte of coach Jorge Cannestracci who won the test by winning three of the four partials played.
